When New Zealand needed a modern fighter in 1941 the Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk was the best available at short notice. It was up to the job, and six operational squadrons flew them in combat during the most arduous phase of the Pacific war.
This book covers all aspects of the Kittyhawk service with the RNZAF; training, operational squadrons, the Servicing Units and special units such as the Gunnery Training School. The colours and markings are a prominent part of the book, as the P-40 schemes varied so much with the changing war situation.
